Part 2 Review: CheekRoom's BB cream and Lipstick

Ok! Part 2! The CheekRoom’s Lipstick. :)

To refresh your memory, this is the packaging. (Lipstick:right)

(This is about 2 or 3 swipes.)

My thoughts:

I got mine in shade 08. I can say that it is the non-matte counterpart of Ever bilena’s matte lipstick in Skin. Why did I purchase this? Because of Ms. Noe, the guru I love… :) Check her out at this site: colorismyweapon.blogspot.com. I wanted to buy the EB lippie in Skin, however my lips are always dry… :( I don’t know what’s wrong with my lips. Dang, I need to drink more water and stop licking my lips (Some say that our saliva makes our lips drier.) Matte lippies will not look good on me. Believe me, I tried it already. I bought EB’s matte lippie in Off beat Pink because of Ms. Noe again, (you are so influential, girl!) but wrong move… Haha! Even though I apply lip balm before the lippie, it didn’t change a thing. So I started using Lip scrub. Let’s see what happens in the future. :p If my lips will not crack up like crazy, then I might buy the EB lippie in Skin and have a review on both Off beat Pink and Skin and on the Lip scrub. :)

Ok, going back, (I talk too much, I know. Haha!) if you are looking for a beige, not-so-nude color, then I think this is the lipstick you want to have. BUT! Its staying power is kinda, well… not so staying. A good 2 or 3 swipes just to achieve the color. It feels like your lips just suck its color if you do it in 1 swipe. You really have to reapply it often. I should have listened to the woman-in-charge of their stall. She already said that their lipsticks don’t have the staying power and it is NOT that pigmented for a lipstick. They are just like tinted gloss or something. Lesson learned! I  mean I like it but not totally crazy about it. It did not live up to the "lipstick expectation".

The price - Php 299.00. A little pricey considering all the cons about the color, etc.

Will I recommend it? – Uhmm… If you need a long lasting lipstick or even just a pigmented one, this is definitely not for you. If you just want a hint of color, then maybe (just maybe) you want to try this. I suggest that you just buy a liptint or tinted gloss if you just want a hint of color. It will save you money. Though I like it, I personally would NOT re-purchase it.

Part 1 Review: CheekRoom's BB cream and Lipstick

Oh yes! My first blog is in purple! Haha! :D

Hello everyone! It took me a long time to actually have the guts to do a blog on everything cutesy and of course make-ups!

I would like to share with you my thoughts on CheekRoom's BB cream and Lipstick in shade 08. This will be a 2-part review: PART 1 - BB cream and PART 2 - Lipstick.

So let's get started!!!

This is the packaging of CheekRoom (BB cream:left; Lipstick:right) Made in Korea.

Soooo retro and I love it!!! And doesn't she remind you of Scarlett Johansson? I have to do some research on this...

PART 1: The BB cream.

To tell you the truth, this is just my second purchase of BB cream. The first BB cream I purchased was Maybelline's. That was like years ago and it was indeed a love-hate relationship for me. I will make a separate review on that. :p I hardly experiment on BB creams because some are pricey. Well, back to CheekRoom... So here is their packaging..

(I don't know if you can see that it's wrapped in plastic..)

(They only have 1 shade on this one)

(Unlike other BB creams, this one has a foil cap on the nozzle.)

SWATCH TIME!

(BEFORE: The back of my hand ---- hello lines and brown spots! O_o)

(Its consistency is not in the liquid side nor on the thick side. Just in the mid.)

(AFTER: Can you see the difference? :D No more lines and no more brownish spots!)

My thoughts:

1. The packaging - It is so girly as you can see. Retro vibe! The tube has this matte feel and is very well sealed. The only downside with the whole packaging is that there is NO english translation! :( Quite sad. You won't be able to appreciate or even have an idea about what's in it and its description. The only words I can "read" were Hydro-Cellulose, Alkyl Sylane Treated Pigment and lilium Candidim Flower Extract.

2. The product itself - I know you have heard the "golden rule" on BB creams... That a pea-size goes a long way.. This particular BB cream is an exemption to that rule! A pea-size won't do it! It will just cover a part of your face. So a pea-size on one cheek, another on the other cheek, another on the forehead.... I guess you know what I mean, right? :p It also dries quickly so apply it by portion, meaning, once you placed a pea-size on the cheek, blend away! But the great thing about this product is that it really gives you a very smooth "canvass"! Have you guys tried Watson's Collagen hand cream? That's the closest description I could compare it. Very smooth indeed. :)  And if your skin is oily (like mine), then you will definitely love this! It will not stop your oiliness 100% but you'll find yourself not reaching for your blotting paper as often as you did before, which is a great thing! It also has this flowery smell to it. It doesn't bother me so it's no biggie. :) It does not leave a white cast or make your face gray, it really blends well, feels like your second skin. I was quite amazed actually. :) OH, just be careful when removing the foil cap on the nozzle. It has this tendency to squirt some product.

3. The price - Php 299.00 for a 30mL tube. Not bad. :)

4. Will I recommend this? - Heck yah I will! :)

I bought this at Robinson's Galleria. They were like a month old when I bought the BB cream and Lipstick. I don't know if they have other stalls.

I hope you guys find this informative! :)
